Official partnership
TAG Heuer × Porsche

TAG Heuer has been Porsche's official global watch partner since 2021, formalising a relationship that stretches back decades. Both brands share the "Carrera" name, inspired by the legendary Carrera Panamericana road race in Mexico. Their first co-designed piece, the TAG Heuer Carrera Porsche Chronograph, features an oscillating mass shaped like a Porsche three-spoke steering wheel and a dial with an asphalt-texture finish. It is the most authentic Porsche watch pairing available.

Heritage story
Why this car and watchmaking share a history
In 1962, Jack Heuer heard tales of the deadly Carrera Panamericana race from the parents of Mexican racing brothers Pedro and Ricardo Rodriguez. He was so captivated that he registered the "Carrera" name for his chronograph the same year — launching it at Basel in 1963 with a clean, uncluttered dial designed to be read at speed. Meanwhile, Porsche had already been winning at that same race with the 550 Spyder in 1954, and eventually named their defining model the "911 Carrera" after it. Two of the greatest names in their respective industries share a bloodline that runs through the same dangerous stretch of Mexican tarmac.

Top 3 watches for Porsche 911 owners
TAG Heuer
~$7,500
Shares the "Carrera" name directly with the 911 Carrera — the most historically authentic pairing on this list. The dial references the asphalt of the Carrera Panamericana and the oscillating mass is shaped like a Porsche steering wheel.
Rolex
~$13,000 retail / ~$30,000+ market
Named after the Daytona race circuit, the Daytona is the natural chronograph companion for any sports car owner. Exceptional investment value mirrors the 911's own strong resale performance.
Porsche Design
~$18,000
Produced exclusively for 911 GT3 buyers. The dial is made from carbon fibre matching the GT3's Weissach package trim, the rotor is modelled on the GT3 wheel using the Porsche central locking mechanism, and the chassis number is engraved on the caseback.

Limited — 500 pieces 2022 TAG Heuer Carrera × Porsche RS 2.7

Released to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7 — the first 911 to bear the Carrera name. The Blue Edition is limited to 500 numbered pieces. The finely polished steel case and rhodium-plated indexes echo the RS 2.7's chrome door handles and mirrors. The in-house Calibre Heuer 02 movement delivers 80 hours of power reserve. Secondary market prices are now well above retail.

Strap pairing guide
Match the strap to your driving style
Leather strap

Classic 911 Carrera, 911 S, and vintage air-cooled models. Matches the heritage and elegance of older Porsches. A cognac or tan leather strap pairs especially well with a Silver or Guards Red 911.

Metal bracelet

Everyday 911 Carrera 4S and Carrera T drivers. Clean, durable, and modern — mirrors the stainless steel and aluminium trim inside the 911 cabin.

Rubber / FKM strap

GT3, GT4, and track day configurations. Sweat-resistant and built for performance. The TAG Heuer × Porsche watches ship with an FKM rubber strap as standard for this reason.

NATO strap

Porsche 911 Targa, rally-spec builds, and touring editions. Casual and adventurous — echoes the spirit of the original Carrera Panamericana competitors.
